Player Ratings

Player rating guidelines for AYSO Region 13 coaches. How to evaluate players for balanced team formation.

Player Ratings

Coaches in 10U-14U divisions rate every player on their roster at the end of each season. These ratings support balanced team creation and All-Stars selection.

Why Ratings Matter

Ratings help the region:

  • Create balanced teams the following season
  • Identify players for All-Stars consideration
  • Track player development over time

Rating Scale

  • 11 = Best player in the division
  • 5 = Average for the division
  • Compare players across the entire division, not just your team

Rate players against others of the same birth year.

What to Include

For each player, provide:

Rating

Follow the Player Assessment Guidelines (auto-calculate ratings based on your observations).

Notes

Document strengths and weaknesses. Example: “Strong ball control and dribbling skills, but needs to develop passing awareness. Dominant right-foot technique but reluctant to use left foot.”

All-Stars Recommendation (if applicable)

For potential All-Stars candidates only, note whether they’re sectional, area, or regional level prospects.

  3. Follow assessment guidelines for each player
