Quick Facts

  • Who: Players who just finished 8U (born August 1, 2017 - July 31, 2018)
  • When: Saturdays, January through late February
  • Duration: 8 weeks
  • Format: 35-minute practice + 50-minute game each session
  • Location: Arroyo Park (South Pasadena) and Marshall Field (Pasadena)

What’s Different in 10U?

Moving from 8U to 10U involves significant changes:

8U 10U
4v4 7v7
No goalkeepers Goalkeepers
Size 3 ball Size 4 ball
No offside Offside rule enforced
Smaller field Larger field

Grad Series gives players hands-on experience with these changes before the fall season.


Schedule (2026)

  • Season: January 10 through February 28
  • Day: Saturdays only
  • Format: 35-minute practice followed by 50-minute game (two 25-minute halves)

Game Format

  • 7v7 on a 10U-sized field
  • Size 4 ball
  • Goals with goalkeepers
  • All Laws of the Game enforced, including offside

How Teams Are Formed

  • First-come registration with priority for volunteers (coaches and referees)
  • Teams formed through blind draw
  • Friendship pairings not accommodated

Volunteer Requirements

  • Head coaches and assistant coaches must complete 10U Coach Training Course
  • Referees must complete Regional Referee Course
